What we hunt In the shadows

A game made for the Games For Blind Gamers 3 game jam.

Please use headphones if you can, there are some sounds that are difficult to hear on normal speakers.

Currently only NVDA is supported as an external screen reader, the internal TTS from godot has some issues with input lag so is better to use NVDA if you can.

How to play:

The game has a 2D platform  perspective, so you can only move to the left or right direction.

The objective of the game is to survive as long as you can,  reach the upgrade checkpoints as fast as you can.

• Move to the right until you reach the next upgrade checkpoint.
• After each upgrade the next checkpoint will be more far to reach.
• Once you reach an upgrade check point you will recover all your endurance.

There is no health bar system in this game,  instead you will be depending on your endurance meter to move and resists attacks from the monsters.

• You use endurance by moving or resisting attacks, if your endurance is too low you won't be able to move any more and any following attack will kill you. 
• A heart beat sound will play loud and faster if your endurance is getting low. 
• To recover endurance stop moving until the heart beat sound stops or is not playing too fast.

Additional info:

• Monster will spawn from the left or right sides of the screen, use your gun to defend yourself.

• Every 5 seconds, the difficulty will increase, monsters will spawn faster and stronger.

• You can tap or hold to fire.

• You can't cancel gun reload, if you start reloading you won't be able to fire your gun until reload is completed.

Controls:

Keyboard:

• Use arrow keys or TAB and TAB + SHIFT   for UI navigation.
• Use SPACE or ENTER to select an option, button or upgrades.
• Use A or D for moving the character left or right.
• Use Q or E to fire your gun left or right.
• Use R to manually reload your gun.

Mouse ( Optional ) : 

• You can also use LEFT CLICK or RIGHT CLICK to fire your gun .

Gamepad:

• Use D-PAD or LEFT STICK for UI navigation.
• Use A button to select an option, button or upgrades.
• Use L2 and R2 to fire your gun left or right.
  
• Use R1 to manually reload your gun.
